7 week placement for Fotech Solutions, a company who specialize in creating Distributed Acoustic Sensors (DAS).
- Testing, validation and QA of externally produced CAD models
- Tolerance testing of hardware units
- Report generation
- Wrote software with the following aims:
- Automating MAT tests
- Automating laser calibration
- Worked on this software project alone and was responsible for production of a final item of software, complete with: test plan, scope of future work and instructional documentation.
- Software skills:
- Python, specifically Tkinter and GUI creation
- Doxygen & Sphinx
- Through this placement I gained an understanding of the optics and photonic technology used.
